Contributing to a better life today to build a brighter future tomorrow!
Your support of The Future of Our Kids has the power to change the lives of our youth, Families and Communities!
Our children are our future, let’s give them a great start today!
Over 600 million Africans lack access to clean water, electricity, and community empowerment programs. Without this critical infrastructure medical clinics, schools and businesses are not fully operational. Borehole drilling down to water aquifers, along with solar energy helps create clean water and renewable power from the sun and benefits the environment. Alternatives to fossil fuels reduce carbon footprint at home and abroad, reducing greenhouse gases around the globe.
The Future of Our Kid's mission is to transform and empower lives by providing humanitarian aid wherever it is needed.
Our Story
The Future of Our Kids was founded by Michael Ross, a Veteran of the US Army. He has visited many countries that lack clean water, reliable power and the devastating effect it has on its people and communities. These basic needs are taken for granted in many countries but is just a dream for many others. Michael Ross said, "After visiting African countries on several occasions and seeing the great need for more reliable solutions, The Future of Our Kids was founded, to assist our African neighbors in achieving the goal of providing reliable water and power in this part of the world."
Economic Empowerment
We focus on building the ability and capacity of vulnerable populations to participate in, contribute to, and benefit from economic activities through employment, entrepreneurship, business ownership, and other forms of economic participation
Water Borehole Drilling
For borehole wells, we survey the area and determine where aquifers are likely to be. We then drill deep into the earth, allowing us to access to water. Once the drill finds water, we take measures to ensure the water is clean and safe. Then we build a well platform and attach a hand pump. The community now has a safe water source.
WASH Programs
(Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene)
Clean water, safe sanitation, and good hygiene are critical for preventing and controlling infectious diseases. The Future of Our Kids WASH programs improve access to the quality and reliability of clean water, and also improves hygiene and sanitation behaviors in communities.
Desalination
In boreholes, seawater, or other water sources with salty water, our Reverse Osmosis R/O system processes separate dissolved salts and other minerals from water, making it clean and safe for communities to drink and use in growing crops and herds.
Our Work
Contributing to a better life today to build a brighter future tomorrow!
Community Programs: We believe in building strong families, which creates resilient communities. Therefore, we promote efforts that offer skills development to enhance an individual’s standard of living and healthy family engagement.
Widows and Orphans Programs: Many Widows are head of the household and additional income is needed. To assist in the development of communities, women must be empowered not only to participate in the economy, but also to steer it toward growth and sustainable development. The Future of Our Kids works with both public and private companies to ensure the individual needs of Orphans are taken care of and handled on a case-by-case basis.
Health and Well-being
The Future of Our Kids provides medical aid to people in remote villages and impoverished communities that lack access to medical care. Partners like you enable us to offer love and dignity through Medical and Health
screenings, children's health programs and more.
Community Health Volunteers
Your support allows The Future of Our Kids to train Community Health Volunteers to serve as front-line health promoters in remote villages where medical care is hard to reach, bringing vital help and information to those in need.
Other Programs
Entrepreneurship & Job Programs: Men, Women, and Young Adults who desire to become entrepreneurs will gain access to the skills, support, and resources necessary to launch, scale, and successfully operate their businesses.
Solar Energy: The Future of Our Kids uses an increasingly wide range of quality solar products. They Feature US-made, reliable Off-Grid Solar Panels, Batteries, and other equipment that can be configured to meet the needs of various communities.
Health Centers: The lack of sufficient, dependable electric power causes a healthcare void in many towns and villages. Many youth and their family members are not able to get basic medical care when needed. The Future of Our Kids can fill this void by installing off-grid Solar Electric Power to these facilities.
Schools: Today, the greatest challenge is to help get solar power and lights in schools. We believe that no school should be left in the dark.
Home/Study Lamps
Small solar lights have a big impact. They represent the first step on the road to a cleaner, safer, renewable future. For the first time, families can stop using dangerous, polluting kerosene lamps and candles.
Counseling & Substance Abuse Rehabilitation
We partner with organizations that have trained professional Helpline Counselors. Services offered include telephone counseling and referrals for alcohol, drug, and substance use disorders.
The Future of Our Kids partners with both public and private institutions to provide and facilitate the development and operation of treatment and rehabilitation facilities, programs, and standards for persons suffering from Substance Use Disorders (SUDs).
