Michael Ross
Founder & Chief Executive Officer

U.S. Army Veteran | Humanitarian Leader | Community Development Advocate

Michael Ross, a US Army Veteran is a passionate advocate for sustainable development and community empowerment with over 25 years of experience in leadership, governance, and humanitarian work in Africa and the US.

 

As Chairman of the Board for The Future of Our Kids, an NGO dedicated to providing access to clean and safe drinking water, Michael has been instrumental in steering the organization’s mission to drill boreholes, install solar-powered water systems, and improve the livelihoods of underserved communities.

In addition to water projects, Michael has championed community-based initiatives that support women’s empowerment, education, and sustainable agriculture, recognizing the intersection between clean water access and broader development goals. His leadership style is collaborative, working closely with government agencies, international organizations, and local communities to create lasting change.

Esther Waiyura

Secretary

As a seasoned strategist and entrepreneur, Esther Waiyura understands that the success of any mission lies in its organization. Serving as Secretary for TFOKAF, Esther utilizes her extensive experience in logistics and market development to streamline the foundation's operations and community-focused initiatives.
Esther is passionate about using her business acumen to empower others, particularly through sustainable agriculture and clean water access. Her role is vital in maintaining the integrity of TFOKAF’s projects, ensuring that the foundation’s goals are translated into measurable impact. Esther’s dedication to community empowerment and long-term sustainability makes her a cornerstone of the leadership team, driving the foundation toward a more resilient future.

Alasha K Bunton

Treasurer

Real Estate Business Owner, Investment and Asset Management. Maintains the financial integrity and sustainability of the organization including Financial oversight and financial reporting.

Works with the CEO to prepare an annual budget. Collaborates with the board to develop financial policies that promote transparency, accountability, and financial sustainability. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to adapt quickly to new challenges.

Steve Jones brings over 31 years of military leadership as a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel and extensive experience in international humanitarian missions, including a Kenyan Certificate of Ambassadorship. His professional expertise as a real estate investor aligns with our commitment to affordable housing, while his dedication to financial literacy and community empowerment strengthens our mission to transform vulnerable communities. Steve’s profound history of service and global perspective is instrumental in advancing our water, energy, and housing initiatives throughout the US, Africa and beyond.

David Kirui Sang

Board Member

David Kirui Sang is a seasoned agricultural professional with over 25 years of experience in the industry. He began his career in the United Kingdom, where he studied at Warwickshire College of Agriculture. Following his tenure in the UK, David relocated to Kenya and served as Group Technical Support Manager with regional responsibilities across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

He is deeply passionate about supporting farming communities and helping them adopt modern technologies to improve productivity and sustainability.
